San Jose – Arenal Volcano - Tabacon Hot Springs – San Lorenzo Canopy Tour – Jaco Beach – San Jose
Day 1:
You are greeted outside of the San Jose airport and helped with your bags for the comfortable and short drive to your hotel in the area of San Jose where you are welcome to unpack, unwind and settle in for your first night in our tropical paradise. There we will give you all the necessary documentations and instructions for your trip.
The Sleep Inn San Jose Downtown is conveniently located in the heart of the City, less than 10 miles from Juan Santamaria International Airport. It is a short distance from tourist attractions, Casinos, Night Clubs, Bars, and Restaurants, The National Theatre, Museum de Jade, Museum de Oro and parks that are part of the national heritage, among many others.
Day 2:
After breakfast your car will be delivered to the hotel for you to start exploring the country. You will drive in between coffee plantations to reach Poas Volcano National Park (entrance fee not included $7 per person + $3 parking fee). After arriving there, a short walk will put you in front of this wonder of nature, since you will be standing at the edge of the giant active crater and its gorgeous view. Continue to the lowland of the North Country with incredible landscapes and waterfalls. You will arrive mid-afternoon and check into Arenal Paraíso hotel and then go to Tabacon Resort and Hot Springs where you will experience one of the world's most amazing offerings. Here you will relax in Mother Nature's enormous hot tub. The hot springs are fed by an underground river heated naturally by the Arenal Volcano to the perfect temperature of 101 degrees. Our previous guests refer to this as their personal visit to the Fountain of Youth. After a great buffet dinner, you will head back to your hotel for a wonderful night of rest.
At the Arenal Paraíso hotel you can enjoy a peaceful and quiet atmosphere with the best view of the majestic Arenal Volcano. From a height of 1,633 meters above sea level, the volcano spews forth rocks, fire and lava over its upper slopes. Here the natural beauty of the rain forest with its great variety of exotic plants, animals and birds of tremendous beauty, merges with the magnificence of one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Really the best place to enjoy the peace and nature!
Arenal Volcano is by far the most active volcano in Costa Rica and as well one of the most active in the world with daily eruptions. This makes the area of Arenal and La Fortuna a fascinating tourist destination that attracts foreigners as well as the residents of Costa Rica.
Day 3:
After a delicious and hearty breakfast you will get back on the road, taking a different route across the Central Volcanic Mountain Range, about a 1-½ hour drive for a different kind of adrenalin rush. The San Lorenzo Canopy Tour! You and your safety harness will be hooked to several long cables where you will glide through the middle of the jungle, from tree to tree, just like the Toucans do. At the end of the tour you may eat at their restaurant or explore other areas on the way to Jaco Beach, your final destination. You will be there just in time for the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Explore Jaco’s nightlife and the many restaurants they have to offer.
